The youth are destined leaders of tomorrow. Today’s problems would exacerbate if it is not resolved. The youth are the ones that are truly vigilant and prudent enough to disentangle Malaysia from our quandaries. Nevertheless, it will be the youth that would truly bring us to a peaceful and harmonious Malaysia.

Although the youth are filled with schemes of the future, they are tied back by today’s laws. They are not able to express ideas and thoughts as it seems as if they are only desideratum in school to study. In reality, their ideas are what drive us to a brighter future. Benjamin Disraeli a British politician in 1874 even said “The Youth of a Nation is the trustees of posterity”. Most developed countries have already anticipated the youth’s ideas on making the world a better place.

The Swedish government for example took in Greta Thunberg a young climate activist that protested in front of the Swedish parliament building to speak out her ideas and thoughts of the role of youth in the world especially in resolving today’s climate crisis. Although the youth contain ideas of developing the country for the better, present leaders are too obsessed with the mentality of “The Youth are the leaders of tomorrow,” that they tend to abominate the youth’s capabilities.

The locution of today’s leaders has stimulated the discrimination and inattentiveness of the youth’s resolutions in solving present world problems just for the halibut of their young age. The world today, especially Malaysia should alter this mentality to “The Youth are the leaders of today,” where present leaders would give more tolerance to youth’s infinite ideas and opinions.

In attaining the United Nations Sustainable goals for Malaysia, the youth are the solutions to unerringly achieve them. This is due to their determination and tenacity of them to have a brighter future.

The youth are widely receptive and open-minded which is disparate to the contemporary leaders. Today’s issues associated with equality that had spread throughout the globe needs solutions that are unprejudiced. Hitherto, leaders are imperceptive to see the youth as part of the solution. Instead, they chose to enforce laws that sometimes worsen the problem itself like the unfair stipend and honorarium of both genders. This is ascribable to the biased-minded leaders that are at the helm of creating these laws without taking any deliberation of any opinions from the youth.

Malaysia should circumvent this frame of mind. Ideally, we should emphasize more in discoursing with the youth. A perfect example of this is when Malaysia had decided to lower the voting age of Malaysians to 18 in July this year. This would positively affect Malaysia’s future predominately in achieving equality for all. Malaysia would see a less biased rose to power but instead supplemental leaders that are more tolerant and proficient.

Simply, when the youth is considered the country’s future it will always lead towards a utopia of ideas in solving today’s conundrum. Contempo, our education system is holding back the youth locking their ideas and solutions as if their ideas are of no use at all. This biased education system entrusted to manifest leaders is inapt to do so. This is ascribable to the educators that adjudicate the students by grades from exams instead of their ambition and talent.

Ignorance to nourish the talent that is naturally implanted in each individual, the youth’s potential would be wasted on the same mentality. The mentality that levels one's successfulness by the reputation of one's occupation. Our mental attitude is deeply obsessed by parents, teachers, and even our education system here in Malaysia, causing the youth of today to face the thunder of it.

The basis of our education that develops graduates with the same discipline and syllabus of education that most of the youth’s creativity and critical thinking in solving problems are no longer instilled in themselves anymore. Education is no longer up to the quality of bringing Malaysia to a brighter and more advanced utopia.

To rectify our education system to develop our youth as the leaders of today, we need to modify system based upon the many ideas of the youth on creating a conducive educative environment. The ones that are the best in knowing the problems faced by youth in the current education system are themselves. Around 60.1 billion ringgit have been given to invest in developing Malaysia’s education system. Allocation for reforming the education system should also include youth’s ideas.

Contempt the education system to the youth would develop a better learning environment where talents and ambitions of oneself would be developed instead of being ignored. This newly built education system based on the youth’s ideas would be more than qualified to nurture the potential leaders of today in every youth of Malaysia. This would be the bridge that connects the teachers and leaders today to truly understand and nourish our youth.
